| Push Feeder |
The purpose of the Push Feeder is to feed coarse material evenly by mechanical means from the bin to the crusher so as the achieve smooth operation and maximum utilisation of down-stream operation. In the majority of applications, the Push Feeder forms the lower limit of the material bin, the side and rear walls of the bin extend downwards to just above the Push Feeder carriage. This leaves only an opening to the front of the feeder, the limits of this opening are formed by the feeder pan, side walls and the upper limit is formed by the bin.
The forward stroke of the feeder, generated by the crank discs, carries part of the materials forward. The empty space created behind is filled immediately by the material sliding down from above. During the reverse cycle of the carriage, this material is retained by the rear wall. The carriage is then pulled back under the materials load.
At the same time the material which advanced during stroke falls out and is fed towards the crushing unit. The volume can be regulated by means of adjusting the stroke and the number of strokes per minute. |
